In this month’s edition of ‘Bloggers Who Werk’ I am happy to introduce Fallon Jai the creator/blogger of, a fashion/beauty/lifestyle Christian-based blog dedicated to the uplifting and empowering teen girls and women. She is a proud New Orleans native that graduated from Xavier University of Louisiana with a B.A. in Mass Communication. She is a creative writer, freelance publicist and motivational speaker. Keep reading to learn more about what inspires Fallon Jai.

1. How do you define your personal style?
I like to call my personal style classy sassy chic. It’s classy because I intentionally embrace a certain level of sophistication and avoid less than ladylike trends. It’s sassy chic because I LOVE shimmery textures (sequins, beading, rhinestone accents), vibrant colors and super glitzy costume jewelry.

2. Who is your favorite style icon?
I have a super fashion and hair crush on Tamara Mowry-Housley. I’ve been inspired by her and her twin sister Tia since their ‘Sister Sister’ days. When they started wearing plaid skirts, knee-highs, Mary Jane shoes and newsboy caps, I was right along with them. They have grown into fantastic classy women that aren’t afraid to embrace the latest fashions without compromising their integrity.

3. Do you follow fashion trends?
I do to a certain extent. I use them more as inspiration and not the ultimate rule of what I should be embracing at the moment.

4. Tell me something cool about yourself.
I have a mild case of a photographic memory. If I see or read something once, it stays in my mind forever.

5. Who is your favorite designer or brand?
I don’t necessarily have a favorite brand or designer. If I like it, I buy it no matter the label. But I must say I love shopping at Forever 21 and H&M because their clothes are super cute and crazy affordable.

6. Name the one thing you never leave home without?
Wow just one thing? LOL. Well if I had to pick just one thing it would be to never leave home without lip gloss/lipstick. I think every lady should never leave the house without wearing lip gloss or lipstick. It adds the perfect touch of glam to any look.

7. Name an item every woman should own?
That’s easy—a compact mirror. You should always assess yourself in the mirror to make sure no mishaps are occurring (smeared makeup, food on face/in hair, a bat in the nose cave).

8. What song sums up your life right now? Why?
Jill Scott’s “Golden” is the theme of my life right now because I REFUSE to be imprisoned by fear, sadness and insecurity. Whenever fear tries to slither its way into my spirit, I crush it with the knowledge that God created me to be productive and bless others with my talent. And it’s impossible for me to fulfill my purpose if I’m always living in fear.

9. Do you have a favorite quote?
“Never be content in hell just because it’s the only thing you know. You deserve better—aim higher.—Fallon Jai

10. How are you leaving your mark on the world?
I’m leaving my mark by fulfilling my purpose which is using creative writing, acting and public speaking to spread God’s message of love, discipline and humbleness. I’ve stepped into my calling and I’m committed until the end.

*Bonus Question: What advice would you give your younger self?

I would say, ‘Fallon be prepared for your life to take unexpected twists and turns. No matter how much you plan for your life, God might have other plans for you and you need to embrace them because the payoff will be far better than you can imagine. And whatever you do, make sure you are ALWAYS honest with yourself.’
